A recent Windows 10 Update KB5000802 released in March is causing a APC INDEX MISMATCH stop code error when printing, mainly with Kyocera printers.
KB5000802 is an automatic security update, which means it has been downloaded and installed automatically for majority of Windows users.
The BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) as most IT Techs call it, comes up a Stop code: APC INDEX MISMATCH and What failed: win32kfull.sys
This update seems mainly to be affecting Windows 10 users with a Kyocera, Richoh and Zebra printers.
How to fix win32kfull.sys BSOD after March 2021 update
To fix win32kfull.sys with Stop code APC_INDEX_MISMATCH, you will need to roll back to an earlier restore point on the PC or uninstall the update manually.
To uninstall the update, follow these steps:
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
- Click on View Update History
- Click on Uninstall updates link
- Locate the update and click on Uninstall
- Select Yes
How to uninstall Windows 10 KB5000802 using Command Prompt
If you are unable to uninstall the patch via Control Panel, you can also use the following Command Prompt or PowerShell command to remove the patch manually:
wusa /uninstall /kb:[id]
In the above command, you would need to replace the KB ID with the one that you wish to uninstall.
If your Windows 10 version is v2004 or 20H2, the command would is wusa /uninstall /kb:5000802
For Windows 10 version 1909 or 1903, the command is wusa /uninstall /kb:5000808
NOTE: This issue has now been resolved but if you are still having this problem, follow the instructions above to uninstall the update KB5000802, restart your computer and then install Windows updates.
