Microsoft Business Pricing Increases from July 1, 2026

Microsoft has confirmed global price increases across most Microsoft 365 business and enterprise subscriptions, effective 1 July 2026.

The changes affect Business, Enterprise, Frontline, and select standalone components, and will apply at renewal for existing customers.

While the headline story is higher licence costs, Microsoft has positioned the increase as part of a broader shift toward bundled AI, security, and endpoint management capabilities across its core business offerings.

Why Microsoft Is Increasing Prices

Microsoft has explicitly linked the July 2026 pricing update to expanded value being built directly into the core Microsoft 365 suites, particularly across three areas:

1. AI and Copilot capabilities
   Copilot Chat is being embedded across Microsoft 365 apps such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, providing baseline AI assistance without requiring a full Copilot add‑on licence.
2. Improved security baseline
   Microsoft is rolling advanced protections—such as Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 and enhanced phishing and URL protection—into more E‑ and Business‑level plans, raising the default security posture across tenants.
3. Endpoint and identity management
   Expanded Intune and Entra features are being included in E3 and E5 tiers, reducing the need for separate management SKUs in many environments

If you have a different Microsoft Business licence that is not listed above, then most likely there will be no increase in price but best to check with your Microsoft account supplier.

To minimise impact and avoid unnecessary spend:
